Meet Jack Dodd
I am a proud husband to my wife, Brenda, and a father to my two sons, Jeramie and Brian. I am also a proud grandfather of four grandchildren. I have been a lifelong Howard County Resident except for seven years in Arizona and my time serving our country in the Army.
I retired from United States Army and Army Reserves after serving in Desert Storm as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Benning. Upon returning, I acted as a Human Resources Director in my career.
I was first put in as County Commissioner in January of 2020 when I was caucused in to replace Tyler Moore in District 2. I was then elected into full term in November 2020. I am the current president of the Board of County Commissioners.
I am an active member of the Indiana County Commissioners for the past 4 years, Vice President of the Northwest Region for the past 3 years. I am also currently serving on the Advisory Board for the Local Technical Assistance (LTAP) in association with Purdue University.
Since taking office, I have been focused on keeping the county focused on what’s important…..you the citizen. We are faced with enormous opportunities with the growth of our county. $5.7 Billion in investment from StarPlus Energy. Investments that may create over 3,000 new, high paying and high-tech jobs over the next five years. Investments that will spur growth of other supporting businesses as well. Restaurants, hotels, suppliers, housing just to name a few. Investments that will mean growth for existing local business as well. With this growth comes challenges as well. Leadership and Experience will be needed over the next four years to address these opportunities and these challenges.
